Purchased at auction from collection of Rowe. On December 8, 2023 Rowe was fortunate to be contacted by Alyssa Designs Co, which was working on a original mid-century home built in 1956 in Columbus, Indiana, an architectural destination for mid-century notable designers and builders. The new owners said the house was a time capsule, fully furnised with a Rowe 8550 Davenport Sofa. Archived records indicated that the sofa was introduced during October market of 1967. Rowe purchased the pieces and refurbished them, including recovering with Valdese Weavers. The exclusive woven fabric, inspired by vintage bias-cut skirt from Valdese Weavers' archive. Crafted from plush boucle and chenille yarns, its playful diagnal pattern and subtle colors add retro charm to any space.
